Fruits & Veggies

So, I found out we have a co-op in our area. I know several people that participate in it and decided to try it out. I went this morning and picked up my basket. It was very cold!! What happened to the nice warm weather we have been having?

You do not know what you are going to get before you get there. So, today in the fruit basket there were 3 mango's, 6 bananas, 5 apples, 4 grapefruit, 1 kiwi and 1 pineapple. In the vegetable basket there was 1 head leafy green lettuce, 1 head of cauliflower, broccoli, 3 turnips, 1 cucumber, cauliflower and celery. Now, I don't eat turnips and I think even if I tried to make a really cool turnip recipe my hubby would not eat it so my turnips will be going to a friend. There was also an add on this week and I got a case of pineapple that I will be splitting with two friends. So, I am really excited about this. And the great thing is they sometimes have organic!!! All the produce is grown from local farmers as much as possible...of course some of these things are not grown in our area. All of this was only $16.50. I think that is great!!! There is a first time charge of $3 but you only have to pay that once. So, I guess all of this was really $19.50 this time.

It was a really fun morning. There were several girls from my MOPS group there and most of us showed up a little early so we just chatted (and froze) while we were waiting!!
