Busy Girl....

The Princess has definitely become a busy little girl. She is EVERYWHERE these days. I told someone the other day I should be super skinny trying to keep up with her! She loves to go get the picture of Kate you see laying beside her. She can't say Kate's name yet but we are working on it!!

We had a great weekend! Friday night we had dinner over at a friends house. They have a little five year old girl that the Princess just loves playing with. She played and played Friday night.  She slept until 10:40 I think it was Saturday morning! I told hubby she was not a teenager yet...I could not believe she slept that late. She was definitely tired from playing on Friday night!!

Saturday we hung out at the house most of the day. Then Saturday evening we went to dinner. Fun day with just the three of us.

Sunday was church and then we came home, had lunch at home and then met friends for dinner. We had fun at dinner and the Princess slept on Hubby until the food came and we finally convinced her to get in her highchair and then she eventually came to life playing with their little eight year old girl.

Monday we started MOPS back!! After MOPS the Princess and I came home. I really needed to clean my house but was tired!

Today we ran errands and then while the Princess was down for her nap I cleaned the house. I had to because we had Bible Study at my house tonight. I just love our Bible Study group.
This picture cracks me up.  What a silly smile she is making here.  She was being a silly girl while I was taking these.  She was so excited to get her pictures taken!!  The pictures I posted today were taken yesterday(Monday). The Princess loves getting her picture taken lately. It really sounded like she was saying "cheese" when I was taking these pictures.  I have no idea where she learned that.

Playdate - Smiles & Tears

As most of you that read my blog probably know I am in MOPS. I love MOPS. I could not wait to join but waited until August 2010 to join because the Princess was just so little and we really did not have any kind of schedule going and then in January 2010 there was so much sickness going around. I finally joined for August 2010 after visiting twice toward the end of the Spring semester.

I am on the Steering Committee for our MOPS group. A friend of mine had told me if I really wanted to be involved and get to know people faster I should join Steering. Well, that is what I did and I do the Publicity for our group and I am the coordinator for the Sponsorships for our Semi-Annual Fundraiser.

The discussion group I am in had a Playdate on the 15th and I hosted it. I invited a couple of other moms that I am friends with also. We had a great time! I called it a Valentine Playdate even though it was the day after Valentines. The Princess gave all her little friends a Valentine Card before they left. I was planning on decorating the table for Valentines but I waited until Valentines day to go look for stuff and guess what, yes it was picked over:(. I did find some cute heart shaped plates though:).

I had my camera out and charged and then did not think about taking pictures until the kids were already playing upstairs. We had 12 kids and 10 moms here. Several of the moms had kids in MDO that day or we would have had quite a few more kiddos joining us!

The Princess was not so sure about all these kids playing with her toys. The other moms told me not to worry that when we go to one of their houses that their kids will probably not want to share their toys either. The princess cried alot when she would see someone playing with something and then she would try to take it from them. We are trying to teach her to share. I am hoping as we have more and more playdates that sharing will become easier for her...although people do keep telling me it is her age too.

So the picture at the beginning of the post is how I wish she had been the whole playdate but the following picture is how she was part of the playdate too.

I can not wait for our next playdate. Not only is it fun for the kids but it is fun for us mommies too - to be able to chat for a few minutes as we are watching the little ones.

We had a playdate that morning and then that night I had planned on going over to one of the moms in our MOPS group and play Bunco. I had never played Bunco before and I l.o.v.e.d it!! It was so much fun. I am looking forward to next months Bunco night!!!

Hope you all have a great Thursday afternoon. Someone is awake from their nap now so I better go get them up and get ready to play!!

The B-I-B-L-E

I was so excited Sunday when I went to pick the Princess up from her class after church to hear how much she LOVES the Bible!!

They told me that she would run up to it and then showed me a picture they had taken of her laying down with the Bible in front of her and a little boy laying down in front of her and she was reading it to him!!

They said she loves the Bible time in her class. She is also the "worship leader" in her class. She has been the worship leader in her class for quite a while now.

I will hold my Bible up and ask her what it is and you can tell she is saying Bible - you just don't quite hear the "l" on it yet.

She does love to get my Bible sometime and flip the pages. Now I just wonder if she is going to like Bibles as much as me. I love Bibles! You would almost think I collect Bibles because I like all the different types and have quite a few. I took these pictures today of her "reading" my Bible!

Happy Valentines Day!!

Valentines being on Monday is not so bad. We normally do not go out to dinner on Valentine's day because everything is so busy!! This weekend I told hubby he had taken me out twice for Valentines since we ate out Friday night and Saturday night. Tonight, I made a really simple meal. Pizza:). Homemade pizza though, not take out.

This morning Hubby surprised me with pink roses!  I found out he and the Princess went and got them last night while I was at a meeting!  I was not expecting any at all.  Before we had the Princess, he use to always send me roses to work.   I have never seen pink roses like the ones he gave me this year...they actually have "zebra" in the name and have a stripe on them.  Considering how much I love animal print I think they are pretty cool!!!

Today the Princess and I were quite busy. We had lunch with a friend and then we went and got a balloon to take to the cemetery for Kate. We actually got one mylar and then a couple of balloons we could put in her flowers.

I had not yet gone and picked out new winter flowers and Kate's vase like many others today still had poinsettias in it. I have been thinking about it for about a month but with all the bad weather we have had and I like Hubby to go with me to pick them out I just have not gone yet.

So, when the Princess woke up from her nap I loaded her up and looked up and saw a bag of flowers that I had in my garage. I instantly decided I would take them and even though they are a little summery it would brighten up Kate's marker until I find something different to take out there.

Later this week I will have to go back out and remove the heart balloons and that should help the arrangement look a little better.  There are three of the heart balloons squeezed in there...you can only see one of them really good in this picture.  I thought the frog balloon was so cute! The Princess seemed to like it too!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day too!!

The Princess With Sadie And Possibly An Attachment Toy....

So the other day I was in the kitchen and Sadie and the Princess were in the living room when I heard Sadie and looked to see what she was doing.  I hurried back to the kitchen to get my camera because this is what I saw....

I have said several times when people ask what is the Princess favorite toy that she does not really have one.  She has never really been attached to any toy or blanket.  Well, we think we may be seeing a change.  For her birthday in July she received a little doll and a hat from two different people.  Well, lately she is always wanting to wear the hat and the doll is in her hand alot!!  So, we are thinking she may have finally found her attachment toy (I guess that is what it is called).  I told hubby that if she continues doing this we should probably find out where the doll and hat came from and buy another one to put up just in case something happens to the ones she has.

The Princess and I are just hanging out at home today.  The ice and snow are melting but it is COLD!!!  Maybe we will venture out tomorrow for a while:)

Super Bowl and Winter Weather.....

We had a great Super Bowl party this past Sunday! I should have taken the group picture earlier because some had already left when I thought to take it.  There were about 30 people here and the Princess had so much fun playing with all the kiddos! It is so funny to watch her with older kids because I think she thinks she is just as old as them! We had lots of yummy food to choose from. A few years back I had made a table cloth to look like a football field. I had used it several times over the past few years and when I pulled it out for the Cotton Bowl party it did not look good any longer so I threw it away. Hubby and I made a new one for the years Super Bowl. Hubby helped me make both of them because he measures out the yard lines so they are spaced evenly apart:) I did not get a picture of it when it had the football and the plates in the end zone for the two teams but I did take a picture of it at the end of the night when nothing was left on it!

So, we have snow and ice AGAIN!! I don't think we got as much snow as they were predicting but schools are closed. I am excited that the trash was able to run today because last week they were unable to pick up our trash due to bad weather so we have gone TWO weeks without them coming by....but thankfully they have already picked up the trash today!!  I just looked at the weather and it is showing that tonight we are suppose to be in the single digits again!!  I went to the store and restocked yesterday along with everyone else in the town I think!!

Ice Storm and then SNOW!!!

Monday of this week I was running around trying to make sure I stocked up on what we needed because we had an ice storm coming our way (along with many other states). I was thinking we would be stuck in the house for maybe two days...ha! I finally got out of the house yesterday (Friday)!! About midnight on Thursday night/Friday morning it started snowing - we got around 7 inches the last time I heard on the news. We have to get out today so that I can get what we need for the Super Bowl party! The Princess had fun in the snow today!

Hubby made a video of the Princess walking in the snow today but I am going to have to figure out how to get it on my blog.   I did take the pictures in this post with my phone so they are not that great!

So, I don't know why but this week I have been a little lax on the Princess bedtime. I guess because we were not getting out and so she did not have to get up early so why not?? Now, next week, when we are back on our regular schedule if the weather clears up I am sure I will be telling Hubby around 8 - 8:30 that it is time for her to go to bed! Anyway, yesterday we had a late lunch with friends (yes, we got out in the snow and went to lunch) so the Princess fell asleep on our way to lunch, so say maybe 10 -15 minutes and that was it. While we were eating dinner last night I looked and she could hardly hold her eyes open....
Guess who went to bed early (or on time) last night????

Where Have I Been???

My goal the beginning of the year, to blog everyday or almost everyday. I did not say that was my New Years Resolution just my goal. Well, there is a little girl in my life better known as the Princess that takes priority over just about everything. I want to blog about her everyday because I know she does little things that if I don't write them down I may not remember them.

Well, this has been quite a week! We do live in the South not the North. If you were to look out our windows you would think we possibly lived in the North. First, we had three days of ice and then about midnight I guess it was last night it started snowing. It snowed quite a bit today and we have at least 6-7 inches of snow according to the news. Earlier today I heard seven inches! Wow, the Princesses first two winters have had an unusual amount of snow!!

The Princess turned 18 months on the 6th of January. Hubby's friend invited him and the Princess to go to a basketball game. They had a great time!! I thought it was really neat how it happened to be on her 18 month birthday!! Here is a picture of them getting ready to drive to meet up with everyone for dinner and then drive to the city to the game!

The Cotton Bowl was on the 7th!! We had our friends who are Aggie fans come over. That was a fun night since we are LSU fans - it is always fun to watch a ball game with the opposing team! It is fun no matter if we lose or win, but we just happened to win that night!!  We have even watched the Arkansas/LSU game with HOG fans - and we lost the year we did that:(.

The first snow storm came on Sunday the 8th of January!  When we went to church that morning there was no snow (it was in the forecast though) and when we got out of church there were snowflakes falling.  We can normally make it home from church in probably 15 minutes or so.  I had gone to the store the day before and stocked up knowing that the forecast was predicting snow but Hubby decided he wanted to chili and I had not picked up the stuff we needed for that.  We drove to the grocery store and I ran in along with half the town to pick up a few more needed items and then we came home to eat lunch.  The roads were already getting slick!  It probably took us 1 1/2 hours or so from the time we got out of church, drove to the grocery store and then drove home.  Leaving church and driving to the store and then home we would probably be able to do in 45 minutes on a normal day!! (The picture at the beginning of this post is from this snow storm too).  On the Wednesday after this snow storm we still had snow in our backyard!

This month the Princess also went in for her 18 month well visit! She was in the 75th percentile for her weight and the 80 percentile for height!! She also got her first sucker at the doctors office this time. We have never given her a sucker so this was a real treat for her!! She.Loved.It!!!!

As you can tell we have had a busy month...I can't think of anything off the top of my head that we did the rest of the month...see, that is why I need to blog everyday because I am probably missing something really great I need to remember:)

Hope you all have a great weekend!!  And hopefully, just hopefully I will be blogging a bit more!  Trying to take pictures everyday really helped me remember what we were doing at least some of the time:)
