Girls Night

So, it was not a girls night out at the beach like the picture above...that was actually from when we went to the beach last month.

Tonight the Princess and I tried finding her fall/winter shoes. I never knew that a 7.5W would be so hard to find. We actually shopped for them last weekend too. We do get her Stride Rite shoes and I have even looked online and they do not have her size online either. Hopefully we find some soon....

After shopping for shoes I had a quick return to make and then the Princess started saying "ice cream". So we went and had ice cream....and she ate more than I thought she would.

We then had to go find her a pair of leggings to go with a tutu she got for her birthday. She is getting her 2 year old pictures taken tomorrow....yes, almost 3 months late but better late than never...the only thing is I am trying to dress her like it is July and it is almost October!!!

So, the two of us had a fun girls night tonight!!!

What A Week!

Yes, I know it is only Wednesday but somehow I ended up having plans every night this week. I do not normally do that but I guess this is a good week for that:).

Monday night the discussion group I am in at MOPS had a Mom's Night Out. We had a great time getting to know each other a little better and playing games.

Last night was Bible Study night! I am really excited about our new study this semester. I posted about it here.

Tonight was church.

The Princess and I had a pretty busy day.  We got up early today because I had boot camp this morning.  I started going to boot camp last Wednesday.  They offer it at my church three days a week.  I.LOVE.IT!!  You never know what the instructor has in store for us on any given day.  I have ran more than I have ran in months in the past week.  I had actually pretty much stopped running after I hurt my knee back in the spring around the time of my 5K.  It is an awesome workout and they also have childcare so the Princess gets an hour of playtime each time I take her.

This morning I was tempted to skip....I broke the lid to my cup....then I had water all over my shirt...but I made it there and so glad I did!  We did our workout outside which I think made it harder to do.  Looking forward to the next class!  I better get some sleep so I can start getting ready for tomorrows busy day!!!

Bible Study Time....

I was going to post about what we were going to do for our upcoming Bible Study this last week sometime and did not get a chance and then I saw over at Kelly's Korner the Show Us Your Life this week was about favorite Bible Studies.

The Bible Study group that I am in started back in September 2006. Some of the ladies have left the group over the years and we have had new ladies join and then there are about 5 of us I think that are from the original group in 2006!!!  There are around 11-12 ladies in our group.

We love, love, love doing Beth Moore studies. Actually, we have done a few non Beth Moore studies over the years and we always go back to Beth's studies. There is just something about them that we love!!

This fall though, actually starting Tuesday night we are doing something different. We have decided to read Francis Chan's book Crazy Love. There is actually a workbook that goes with it and DVD's. I am really looking forward to it because I have heard so many great things about his books.

Have any of you read this book or any of his other books?

September 16th.....

Our sweet Kate was born on the 15th but passed away on the 16th. She lived a little over 17 hours. As I mentioned yesterday we had cupcakes at the cemetery this year in addition to the balloons that we do every year.

My sweet friend Jen does photography on the side. I had told her a week or two ago that I wanted to do some pictures of the Princess this year at the cemetery. The princess can be very hard to take pictures of sometimes so Jen was taking pictures while I was getting out the cup cakes, trying to get the Princess to release the balloon and the list goes on. THANK YOU SO MUCH MY SWEET FRIEND!!!!

Here are a two more of the pictures that she took yesterday....I will post more through out next week. I just love them all!!!

Happy Birthday Kate

I can't believe it has been 6 years. Today Kate would have been 6 years old. This would have been a really big year for her because she would have started school this past August too.

This year we did something a little different. We took her flowers and balloons to the cemetery which we always do but this year I also picked up cupcakes. My friend Jen met us out there and took pictures for me this year. As I type this I am hoping she will email me a couple of the 143 that she took so I can include them in this post. If not, I will include them in another post soon. We were just getting the cupcakes out and I heard a voice behind me saying something about cupcakes and it was my friend Alesha and her youngest son bringing balloons and a stuffed animal. I have to add that every year on Kate's birthday Alesha and her family and Sherry and her husband always bring balloons and usually a stuffed animal too. The Princess did not quite let the balloon go the way I imagined this year but that is just how it happened.

Thanks to all of you that have left us messages that you are praying for us today...it means so much! We have only made it through this journey by the Grace Of God! He has carried us each step of the way...there are days that are still hard...definitely not as many as there were in the beginning and like people always said they are fewer and further apart but I don't think they will ever completely go away.

Kate, we miss you so much....your short little life here on earth taught us so much....we love you and even though you are not here with us you are always in our heart...you will never be forgotten sweet baby girl!!

The Weekend and MOPS Kick-Off Today!!!!

We had a quite but busy weekend. Hubby painted not one but two of our bathrooms this weekend!! I was quite excited about that!

Saturday night we went and had dinner with friends and then after dinner all went to eat ice cream. We had a great time and the Princess and their youngest daughter had fun running and running.

Sunday was church. It was Hubby's Sunday to serve in media so he left early and then I got an email needing me to sub in the Princess class so I served in there both hours. I have started serving in her Sunday School class every other week....although I have been in there every week since promotion Sunday. I do enjoy getting to be with her on Sunday mornings though.

Today was our MOPS kick-off for the 2011-2012 year. We had a great time. Because I am on the steering committee I had to be there around 8:30 to help set up. The Princess and I actually made it there pretty much on time. We had so much fun today...I am really excited about this MOPS year. Getting the Princess up that early must have really worn her out because she was asleep when I brought her in from MOPS this morning and napped until around 3:00!

I am including a picture of her from tonight when I went to check on her. She loves to have a bunch of stuff in her bed so I always go to her room and take it all out of the bed after she goes to sleep. I thought she looked so cute with all her stuff in her bed tonight...and yes, I took it all out of her bed...this is a picture of her in her "big girl bed".  We do have a side on it so that she can not roll off....it is a white day bed...I still have to do a post on moving to the "big girl bed"!!

Remembering....

10 years and it seems just like yesterday. I remember I had just moved to a new state and started a new job. I had actually started my new job on September 10th. I remember sitting in my office and listening to people up and down the hall talking about a plane hitting the World Trade Center and then hearing them say another plane had hit. I was sitting there wanting to call my then fiance (now Hubby) and ask him what in the world was going on but did not remember how to dial out on the phones. I could not remember the number to dial to get an outside line. I finally got up and went in one of the other girls office and ask what was going on. She told me and told me what to do to get an outside line on the phones so I called Hubby and his meeting had been canceled so he had stayed home that day and was glued to the TV.

I remember going to lunch that day with two of my co-workers and how quite everything was. I don't think anyone will ever forget where they were that day - the day the world as we had known changed. Where were you on that day?

I still can't believe it has been 10 years.
