Happy Birthday!! Post 2 of 2 for July 6th.

Our little girl is 3!!  I had mentioned before that I wanted to start making traditions for the Princess birthday.  So, I got up this morning and went and got donuts and a balloon.  When I got back home hubby had the Princess dressed and she was ready to eat.  I put candles in her cupcake and she L.O.V.E.D. that!!  We even lit them twice so she could blow them out again!!

Obviously, I do not give her tons of sugar because after the donuts she was bouncing off the wall all day.  When I was not looking she helped herself to a few dounut holes and a cake dounut!

For her birthday dinner we went to eat.  Some friends of ours met us there for dinner.  At the restaurant they sang to the Princess and she got to ride a stick horse around part of the restaurant...yes, she liked that too!!

We had such a fun day celebrating her 3rd birthday!!!

Happy Birthday To Our Little Princess! (Post 1 of 2)

Wow, I can't believe it has been 3 years!  It really does seem just like yesterday that my doctor walked in my hospital room and hubby said, I am guessing it must be good news and she said yes, the lungs are ready and we can do a C-Section at 2:00.  It was around lunch time when she came by so everything went very quickly at that point.  I remember hubby calling people and sending out an email that we were on for 2:00.  We quickly gathered the things in my room and the nurse came to wheel me to labor and delivery.  Quickly the waiting room began filling up anticipating the arrival of "Junior".

Hubby and I waited while they prepped me to take me back for my C-Section....I do remember them having to change out my IV.....I am NOT a fan of being stuck at all!  I remember our pastor at the time (he has now moved to another church) called us while we were in the room waiting.  He was out of town but had heard that the baby was about to be born so he called to pray with us.  That meant SO MUCH to both Keith and me.  He spoke at Kate's funeral and then he did the Princess baby dedication.  He may no longer be at our church but hubby and I will always remember him and his family.  I remember the first Sunday we took the Princess to church....she was around 2 months old and we were walking down a hall leaving and he passed by and then stopped and backed up and said something like this is her first Sunday here isn't it.  Yes, it was her first Sunday...we do not go to a small church...so for him to recognize that just showed us again what a wonderful pastor he is and one that really connected to the congregation.

It was finally time for me to go back to the operating room.  They took me back before they let hubby come back.  After my epidural my doctor came in the room to check on me and I remember telling her I was nervous or scared or something like that.  I think we were all ready for "Junior" to get here. I was 36weeks 3days at this point.  We knew "Juniors" lungs were ready.  We did have the full NICU team in the delivery room though just in case.  We did not know there was anything wrong with Kate until delivery so to give everyone a little peace of mind they were with us waiting for the arrival.

My doctor came back in and few minutes later they brought hubby in.  The time had finally come.  We were having another baby!  I don't know if either of us could even write down the feelings and emotions we were feeling at that moment.

After a few minutes at 2:23 pm my doctor said "IT'S A GIRL"!  I could not believe it!  Another girl!!  Here is a picture of Hubby with the clock before him showing the time she was born.

I would hear her crying and then she would stop and I kept asking over and over when she was not crying why she wasn't.  I think they kept telling me it was ok.  The NICU doctor checked her out and they said she did need to go to the NICU because she was breathing a little fast and that it was really a normal thing though for babies born at that gestational age.  I knew it was different this time though because they brought her to me and let me hold her and took pictures of us before taking her up to the NICU.

Our first family picture with the Princess!

She was finally here!  A little girl!  Little did we know it would take us several days to name her and she would be in the hospital 12 days (her breathing was ok within just a little while but then they realized that she could not eat yet....she was a lazy eater) but we finally had a healthy  5 pound 11 ounce baby girl!

Happy 4th of July!!!

Happy 4th of July to everyone!

I told my hubby earlier it really seems like a Saturday to me.  I guess that is because he has been out doing things with us today.  Even though he works from home most of the time we do not necessarily see him the whole time because he is usually in his office.  So since he was out at the parade with us and then running an errand with us it really seemed like a Saturday.

This morning our city had a parade downtown.  It was very HOT but fun!!  I told hubby maybe we do live in a small town since we did know at least 3 people in the parade.  The guys in the bottom two pictures are friends of ours and the one on the right has a son that was in the parade too but he was facing the opposite direction.  There were alot of people out at the parade today!  I took a few pictures with my phone....the sun was so bright I would just hold my camera up and snap a picture and did not know what any of them really looked like until we left.  I am loving this new photo app a friend of mine told me about recently.

Tonight we went over to our friends Barb and Mark's.  We had an awesome time!!  The princess got the water hose they were using to let the older kids fill up water balloons...she thought that was pretty cool but thought turning the hose on was really fun!
I have got to get a list made and finish up all the last minute things for the Princess birthday party that is coming up.  I still can't believe she is almost 3!!!

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!!!

3 Years Ago Today......And Today!

I know random picture because it was definitely not from three years ago not even from today.  This was actually taken several months ago...we do not have many pictures of the three of us because one of us usually has a camera in our hand. I know this is one the grandparents have not seen though and thought they might like it.

Three years ago today was a Friday.  We patiently waited on this morning three years ago waiting to see if our babies birthday would be July 3rd.  I ask the nurse and she said she would go check.  Long story short my doctor ended up calling us and telling us that the lab that runs the amnio test that we were waiting on had taken July 3rd as their 4th of July holiday.  We were going to have to wait until Monday, July 6th to get the test results....so that was a whole weekend to wait.  So the wait began....I knew though that everything happens for a reason so we began our wait.

So today the Princess used the big girl potty 3 times....yes 3 times today!!!  We were so excited. We will see how tomorrow goes....I am hoping to have her close to potty trained by her 3rd birhtday...I know I am cutting it really close but we will see!

3 Years Ago Today

Three years ago today I was going into the hospital to have an amnio to see if "Junior's" lungs were ready.  For those that might not know we did not find out if we were having a girl or boy so I gave the baby the nickname "Junior".  My doctor called me the morning of the 2nd as she was writing up my hospital orders and ask me if the baby's lungs were ready did I want to do a c-section that night at 8:00. Originally we were thinking if the lungs were ready we would deliver the next day but since one of the test would be back that evening she gave us the option of delivering that night if the lungs were ready.  I remember her telling me I did not have to give her an answer right then...for me and hubby to think about it and just not to eat anything after 12:00 that day if that is what we wanted to do.  I talked to hubby and we decided that if the lungs were ready we would go ahead and deliver.  We called our families and told them that we might have the baby that night and if they wanted to be here for the delivery they should probably get on the road in the next few hours to make it here in time...that is IF the lungs were ready to deliver....that we would not know until around 6:00 pm that evening.  We then started contacting our friends and letting them know that "Junior" may be arriving sometime after 8:00 that evening.

We were excited, nervous, excited, nervous, excited, nervous......Hubby had an errand or something to run so he said he would pick lunch up for me (remember, I had to eat before 12:00 just in case).  I remember him getting back right before 12:00 and me eating my lunch quickly!!

My amnio was scheduled for 4:00 and we had to be at the hospital earlier than that to check in.  What and exciting day for us.

I had my amnio and then went and checked in on the high risk pregnancy floor. The nurse was checking me in and I kept asking if my results had been posted to my chart.  While we were talking the phone rang and as hubby was talking to the doctor the nurse told me it was probably my doctor because she could now see my results.

The first set of results came back borderline....so no baby to deliver tonight....we would get the big test back by noon the next day (or so that is what we all thought).....stay tune tomorrow for more of the story.

The Weekend

We had a pretty quite and laid back weekend.  Here are a few pictures from this weekend.

The Princess LOVES shoes!  Loves them I say....and she KNOWS which pair she wants to wear.  She absolutely loves her Easter shoes.  They are now her "Cinderella Slippers".  The things she says are so cute sometimes.
So this morning the Princess was wearing her patriotic dress to church.  When I bought this little dress I was thinking she could at least wear it to church the Sunday before Memorial Day, the Sunday before the 4th of July and the Sunday before Labor Day.  Well, if she wears it the Sunday before Labor Day it will probably be with leggings under it. She is getting so tall!  I think she has grown since she wore it Memorial Day!!  I have to get pictures where she wants to pose or at least semi-post.  She loves playing the piano!!
She wanted to take a few friends to ride with us to church this morning!
Hope you all had a wonderful Sunday!!!
