Well, this has been quite a week! We do live in the South not the North. If you were to look out our windows you would think we possibly lived in the North. First, we had three days of ice and then about midnight I guess it was last night it started snowing. It snowed quite a bit today and we have at least 6-7 inches of snow according to the news. Earlier today I heard seven inches! Wow, the Princesses first two winters have had an unusual amount of snow!!
The Princess turned 18 months on the 6th of January. Hubby's friend invited him and the Princess to go to a basketball game. They had a great time!! I thought it was really neat how it happened to be on her 18 month birthday!! Here is a picture of them getting ready to drive to meet up with everyone for dinner and then drive to the city to the game!
The Cotton Bowl was on the 7th!! We had our friends who are Aggie fans come over. That was a fun night since we are LSU fans - it is always fun to watch a ball game with the opposing team! It is fun no matter if we lose or win, but we just happened to win that night!! We have even watched the Arkansas/LSU game with HOG fans - and we lost the year we did that:(.
The first snow storm came on Sunday the 8th of January! When we went to church that morning there was no snow (it was in the forecast though) and when we got out of church there were snowflakes falling. We can normally make it home from church in probably 15 minutes or so. I had gone to the store the day before and stocked up knowing that the forecast was predicting snow but Hubby decided he wanted to chili and I had not picked up the stuff we needed for that. We drove to the grocery store and I ran in along with half the town to pick up a few more needed items and then we came home to eat lunch. The roads were already getting slick! It probably took us 1 1/2 hours or so from the time we got out of church, drove to the grocery store and then drove home. Leaving church and driving to the store and then home we would probably be able to do in 45 minutes on a normal day!! (The picture at the beginning of this post is from this snow storm too). On the Wednesday after this snow storm we still had snow in our backyard!
This month the Princess also went in for her 18 month well visit! She was in the 75th percentile for her weight and the 80 percentile for height!! She also got her first sucker at the doctors office this time. We have never given her a sucker so this was a real treat for her!! She.Loved.It!!!!
As you can tell we have had a busy month...I can't think of anything off the top of my head that we did the rest of the month...see, that is why I need to blog everyday because I am probably missing something really great I need to remember:)
Hope you all have a great weekend!! And hopefully, just hopefully I will be blogging a bit more! Trying to take pictures everyday really helped me remember what we were doing at least some of the time:)
