Happy New Year!

Well, I really planned on posting this on Saturday but that did not happen. So, I am a day late...hopefully I finish this post before midnight so I am only a day late rather than two days late:)

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Before Christmas we had some really cute pics made by my friend Jen (you may remember she posted for me when the Princess was born and we were in the hospital). Hubby has already gone to bed and I am not sure where the disk is so here are a few of the pics that are on my computer! I have not even had a chance to download my Christmas pictures yet so for this post it will be the pictures from out little photo shoot...including the picture above!

Last year we called Santa and had him come to our house rather than standing in all the lines because the Princess was so young and there was so much sickness going around. Well, Hubby said that was the way to go so we did the same thing this year. My friend Jen came over that evening also and she, hubby and I were all taking pictures. This is one of the pics she got of the Princess and Santa. The Princess was scared of Santa this year but he was great about just sitting in the floor and letting her come up to him. Thanks Jen for telling us about "Santa" that comes to your house!! I highly recommend it too!!!

The Princess was so much fun this Christmas! Although she really was not to "into" her gifts as she was opening them or should I say as we opened them she has enjoyed playing with them. As I have said to some before when she gets new toys it is like me getting something new to because it is something new for all three of us around her to really play with!!

Christmas Eve we went to church and then came home. This year I hosted our Christmas Eve Tamale Party with our friends the P's. My friend Amy started this about 4 years ago. We have done it every year since except for last year as I think they were out of town last year on Christmas Eve. This year her parents were in town so they joined us along with our friends the H's. I was so excited to host because last year we did not decorate alot and this year we decorated and put up Kate's village so it was fun to host this year!

Christmas Day we went back home for a few days. The Princess had three more Christmas' when we got there. Hubby and I had decided to do the "3 Gifts". She gets three gifts from Santa, three gifts from us and then I decided I would put three gifts in her stocking (this year we only had two things in her stocking). I think we are going to be really happy we are doing this. At my last MOPS meeting we talked about different things people do at Christmas and some of the other mom's said they wish they had done that - I hope it will help the Princess keep the focus on what the real meaning of Christmas. It is fun to give things to her and there is so much out there but we have to remember it is not all about the stuff. That we celebrate Christmas because it is Jesus birthday!!

For New Year's Eve we went to our friends the C's. Last year we spent NYE with them and because I do not like to be on the road on NYE and they moved further north we spent the night. Well, this year we did the same thing. All four of us again...I say four, Hubby, the Princess, Sadie (our lab) and me. Sadie went last year too and she plays well with their dogs. We also have breakfast on New Year's Day and this year we also had lunch before we headed home. We had a great time...it was so much fun!

We spent today going to church and running errands and being lazy. Lazy is what I have got to quit being!! Hubby was off most for about 2 1/2 weeks in December so we have enjoyed staying up late, sleeping in (whatever that means with a 17 1/2 month old) and just being lazy when we wanted to. Tomorrow that all changes. Back to our regular schedules!!

This year I am trying to do the 365 days of pictures. Where I will take a picture of the Princess everyday and then post it. I took one yesterday with my iPhone but forgot to take one today. I should run and take one of her sleeping I guess but I would hate to wake her up so I may just have to post two pictures tomorrow:)

Hopefully doing the 365 pictures will make me blog a little more!!!
