What Have You Been Reading????

As a lot of you may know, I really enjoy reading. I remember when I first got married I started reading the "Miss Julia" books and I remember my sweet hubby telling me one day how he felt like maybe he should be doing stuff with me because I was reading all the time.....which I do not mind him sitting around watching TV and movies if I have a good book to read!
If you look on the left side of our blog you will see a book shelf I have added and will be adding books that I am currently reading/planning on reading and just all time favorites.....there is an arrow under the book shelf to look at more books.....

Now that tax season is over I actually have a little time I can spend reading! I have finished several books since tax season ended and thought I would tell you a little bit about one of them....it is a true story and the name of the book is "Same Kind Of Different As Me". I first heard of this book through church. The authors were coming to speak and the book was being sold at our church so one Sunday morning I stopped by the book table and purchased this book. I thought it very interesting that the book took place in Louisiana and the DFW area. The book really opens your eyes and makes you remember even though we may seem different we are yet the same. It is about a man who was raised in Louisiana as a sharecropper. He hopped on a train one day and ended up living as a homeless person on the streets of Fort Worth.....there was a lady who listened to God and became very active at a homeless shelter in Fort Worth and her family befriended this homeless man and now is carrying the torch that she was initially carrying....I do not want to give too much away about the story because I want you to read the book. The book is written by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. The link to there website is http://www.samekindofdifferentasme.com/

It is really a great book that you will want to add to your library. I was talking to a friend of mine that I told her several times she needed to read the book and now that she has read it she said she does not even want to loan it out, she would rather go by a copy for others......that is how good the book really is!!!!
