A WHIRLWIND WEEK

Hubby was traveling a couple of weeks ago for work. He had a few days in NYC that he was not going to be working so he called to see if I would like to fly up. Well, I am sure he knew what the answer to that was going to be because I love going to NYC! There was only one delema and he knew when he called me that if there was a reason I did not come that would be the reason. I am sure you are wondering by now why would I not go if I love going to NY so much.....well the answer to that would be SADIE. I do not like leaving Sadie. I guess I think no one loves that dog as much as Sadie and I do. She is only a little over 2 so she still has her "hyper" moments. Well, the week before, I was at a Women's Ministry Leadership Conference for several days and Hubby was leaving town my last night of the conference. We had the Sadie delema then as well, so my friend/neighbor, Beth told me she would come over and feed Sadie and then come over several times during the day/evening and play with her and let her go outside, etc...Well that worked out great because Sadie really likes her and she likes Sadie. I knew that I would not have to worry about Sadie at all.....now back to going to NY....I called Beth and she said she would take care of Sadie and for me to go to NY. I called Hubby back on Thursday and left him a message that I had Sadie taken care of and to go ahead and purchase my ticket.

I flew to Newark on Saturday......my flight is a whole other post.....anyway, I finally made it. When Hubby picked me up from the airport he told me he had gotten a call on his way to the airport that his grandmother had passed away. We went and purchased tickets to fly home as we were coming home on the plane that Hubby's company owns on Tuesday but now we needed to get home Sunday night. Hubby had decided we would at least spend Sunday in NYC before flying home.

We got up Sunday morning and started walking around Manhattan. This time we stayed near Time Square so we just walked out of our hotel and we were right in the middle of everything. We walked to Central Park and took a carriage ride through part of the park. After that, we walked down 5th Avenue and then continued walking to a store that Hubby likes that has all kinds of video, camera, computer, etc.....stuff. After that we were off to Macy's. While we were in Macy's a storm came through and Hubby received a phone call that our flight had been cancelled! Well, we had to go back to our hotel to see if they had any room availability for Sunday night since he had already cancelled our Sunday reservations when we thought we were flying home. Luckily, they had received other cancellations and had open rooms. We found out there were tickets still available for a few shows so we quickly cleaned up and went to a show.....and since we were so close to Time Square/Broadway the walk was not far so we had time to get there. After that we went to Roxy's and had a late dinner and CHEESECAKE! That place has the best cheesecake!

Our flight was on time on Monday. We arrived back at my car at the airport at 3:00pm. We then had to drive to pick up Hubby's truck (during rush hour traffic) and then finally made it to our house around 5:15. We rearranged our luggage, got other things we needed for the trip back home including picking up Sadie and were on our way out of town around 6:15pm. We arrived at Hubby's parents between 11:15 - 11:30ish.....that evening. Unfortunately, we missed the visitation because it was Monday evening. They did have a visitation Tuesday morning before the funeral so we were able to be at that and the funeral. We stayed at Hubby's parent's until Thursday and then came back to our house Thursday night.

So that was our week last week. It just seems like we are so busy lately with not much free time. It took us a few days to recuperate from all the traveling but now, a week later I think I have just about caught up on my sleep and we are getting back in our regular routine.

Hubby took a few pictures. I will have to get those from him and then I will post them. Hopefully, I can get him to download them this weekend.
