Sleep (or lack of it) And A Goose Egg

(This is a picture of the Princess last week after going out for lunch....she was sacked out - not something she has been doing at night too early lately)

This has been quite a day or should I say quite a week! Our little princess has not wanted to really go to bed this week at a decent hour. Twice this week I have gotten her to bed at 8:30 and was so excited only for her to wake within 30 minutes or so. Anyway, Sunday night she went to bed around 9:30, Monday night around 10:30, do I even need to tell you what time on Tuesday night? You guessed it 11:30ish.....this was actually one of the nights she initially fell asleep around 8:30 but woke up!

Luckily, tomorrow is her well visit so I am going to talk to the doctor about how to get her to go to bed at a decent hour again!!

Well, as I have mentioned recently, the little princess is very mobile these days. One of the things she does is go over to the back door and pull up on the blinds. Today I was thinking about how unsafe that really is so I decided to pull the blinds up - I did not think about the little silver brackets that they go in until I saw her falling....I FELT TERRIBLE....I STILL FEEL TERRIBLE....I SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THAT WHEN I PULLED THE BLINDS!!!!! She ended up with a goose egg that was really red and then it brushed her eye as well so there were two red spots there. When I realized that she had a bump I called her pediatricians office and they ended up wanting to see her because of the size of it. Ok, it took me about a minute at the most I am guessing to calm her down after it happened....I cried much longer than a minute!!! The doctor's office said everything was fine. I was so glad my friend Amy called me not long after it happened and told me she would go to the doctor with me...so she came over and rode in the back seat with the sweetest little princess and kept her awake for me. Of course, when she called I was a basket case so I was relieved when she got here and told me it did not look that bad!!

I should have taken a picture when we were at the doctor's office but didn't and when I thought about it this afternoon the redness was gone and it looked better which I am very, very thankful for!!!

I know this is just the first of many bumps on the head, maybe I will handle the next one a little better....or not:)
