First Sunday In The Nursery!

Today we left the Princess in the church nursery. I was really, really, really nervous about it! Did I mention how nervous I was? Hubby had said last month that sometime this month we would probably start taking her to the nursery. Last Sunday, Hubby was not at church so it was just me and her (although I did have the help of our friends the Harrison's) and I knew then she would probably have a better time in the nursery where she could talk all she wanted and crawl around and try walking!!

So, this morning when we arrived at church she was sleeping. Hubby said we would go get her signed in and keep her with us until she woke up. Well, she woke up before we ever left the nursery area. This sweet lady told me how to sign her in and they took her stuff and then she took the Princess. Still no crying from the Princess at this point. A few seconds later my friend Heather came in. I found out last week that she is volunteering in the nursery for one of the services each week. She walked in and took the Princess, reminded me that she had my phone number in her phone and I think she said I was the first name that popped up when she pressed "A" and she would call me if she needed me for anything.

So, I handed hubby my phone since we needed to put it on vibrate I thought he could put it in his pocket rather then me staring at it holding it the whole service.

Between BFG (Sunday School) and Service I just had to go check on her. I was just going to peek around the corner because I knew if she saw me she would most likely start crying. I peek around and my friend Heather motioned for me to come over - she was rocking her and she was sound asleep. She said she had played for a while and then reached up for her to pick her up, snuggled her little head against her and fell asleep! Ok, why oh why want she go to sleep for me like that. She said she had found this little toy and played with it the whole time and fell alseep with it in her hand. She took a picture of it and is going to email it to me so I will have to post that on her when she gets time to send it.

We left and went to service and still no phone call while we were in service. As soon as church was over we quickly walked to the nursery and she was sitting in my friends lap and then she saw us and turned the tears on! My friend said that was the first time she had cried the whole two hours or so she had been over there.

She played with my friends kids and with another little one in the nursery. I think we have to say her first visit to the nursery was a success!
