Catching Up!

I have spent a little time this morning catching my blog up. So, if you are interested just keep reading...there are actually three other post today besides this one! I am sure I have forgotten something...but hate getting so far behind! I hope you are all having a great December as you prepare for Christmas. So, we missed the snow we were suppose to get last Friday but did you notice it is snowing on my blog?? Hope you are all staying warm...it is very, very cold here today. Well, I guess I better go get somethings done around the house while E is napping! Oh, speaking of E napping, which as you know she does not nap too much during the day...she slept all night Tuesday night! Hubby put her down around 7:30ish and she slept until 7:00ish Wednesday moring!!! Last night, I put her down around 7:00 and she slept until 4:45 this morning. I did not know if she would sleep as long last night because she did not eat as much before she went to bed. Yesterday, she was really fussy and wanted to be held most of the day. Since she wanted to be held, I held her. I know some would say that I should not do that but she is only going to be small once and I think anyone who has gone through child loss is so grateful to have a baby that we do not mind holding them as much as they want to be held. I will admit, that at times it may keep me from getting things done around my house that I want to do but I am learning those things can wait! Well, E just woke up. I hope you all have a great day today!!!

Happy Anniversary!

Tuesday, December 8th, Keith and I celebrated our 8th anniversary! It is funny how a little 5 month old can change everything. Keith mentioned going out to dinner but I told him I did not know how we could do that unless we went at 3:00 because by 5:00 Ella is beginning to get tired and we start getting her ready for bed. I have had her out at a restaurant once when she was tired and I was worried all the others were being bothered by her crying. So, Keith went and picked dinner up and we ate at home. We did not mind eating at home because we are just so thankful to have Ella. I wish I had a picture on my computer from our wedding to post but I do not. I will have to get Keith to get a few of our wedding pictures for me and I will post them later.

5 Months!

E turned 5 months old this past Sunday (6th). I am posting this just a little late because this little 5 month old keeps me quite busy!! I am so thankful that I am getting to stay home with her and enjoy everything she does. So this month E starting making new noises with her mouth, aka raspberries.  She started doing that on Sunday, November 29th and then on Tuesday, December 1st she rolled over for the first time!!  Hubby and I were both just shocked when she did it...had we blinked we would not have seen it she did it so fast.  It is just amazing how fast she is growing.

She has gotten very animated!  She loves looking around and loves lights!  Thanksgiving night I was rocking her to sleep and the lights on her little tree were on and she was just staring at them....I actually had to get Keith to unplug them to try and get her to go to sleep.

At her 4 month appointment she weighed 14 lbs 4 oz and 25 inches long.  I took her to the doctor this week and she weighed 15 lbs 6 oz.

She really laughs alot now and is so much fun!!!  She is a morning person I think right now.

She still eats every 2 - 3 hours during the day and then waking up about once during the night to eat.

We are so excited about her first Christmas!  Santa came to see her at our house on the 6th, the day she turned 5 months.  Our friends the Procter's came over to and we each had pictures made with Santa.  I think we took around 100 pictures of E with Santa and then a few of Hubby, E and me with Santa.  I will leave you with another picture of Ella with Santa.  She did change clothes during her photo shoot so this is a different picture than the one in the header.

Thanksgiving!

We normally do not go back home for Thanksgiving. Our good friends the Dawson's normally do not go back home for Thanksgiving either and we usually spend Thanksgiving together. We always have a great time and since we are all from the south (but from different states) our Thanksgiving meal is very similar.

This year I was in charge of the cornbread dressing, green bean casserole and bread. Keith was in charge of seasoning the turkey and frying it the next day. Gretchen was in charge of the pies, chocolate dessert, Christmas Cranberry Salad (ok, that is an unbelievable dish), and mashed potatoes. Earlier in the week, Gretchen's sweet daughter called me to see if I would also make my sweet potato casserole. I said of course I would...do you know how great that made me feel that a 16 year old wanted me to make a certain casserole!!!! I was so excited that she liked it that much!

Ok, the above post has been written for a while.....and now here is the rest of the story....

So Gretchen and her daughter came in and told me they had something for Ella but they had to put it together....here is a picture!  I took this picture with my phone rather than my camera so I could finish my post today....anyway, the picture does not do the tree justice.  This tree is adorable!!  Thank you Dawson Family!!!  We love you guys!!  Thank you for loving our little girl so much!!!!
